Over the past 12 months, we have been managing and testing a composting plant in Vacarisses under real-world conditions, achieving outstanding results. Our work has drawn the attention of organizations such as ARC (Catalan Waste Agency), CREAF (Ecological Research and Forestry Applications Center), and IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology), all of whom have visited our facility to observe our door-to-door organic waste management model.
This experience led to a direct collaboration with ARC and CREAF in an innovative project that reuses the town’s organic waste—along with local pruning debris—to regenerate pastures on the Mas Mimó estate, also in Vacarisses.
In this way, the resulting compost is reused within the same municipality where the waste is generated, truly closing the loop and promoting a circular economy.
