Ecompost Participates in “Decentralized Composting in the Canary Islands: Now or Never” Seminar

Ecompost was one of the initiatives featured at the seminar “Decentralized Composting in the Canary Islands: Now or Never”, a key event for reflecting on and advancing new models for biowaste management adapted to island settings and today’s sustainability challenges.

We shared our decentralized composting solution, designed to support local treatment of organic fractions and to actively contribute to the shift toward a circular economy. Our system was presented as an example of technical innovation and operational viability—aligned with Law 7/2022 on waste and contaminated soils, as well as with the Ministerial Order regulating authorization exemptions for domestic, community, and agricultural composting.

The seminar brought together local government officials, technicians, sector professionals, researchers, and students, encouraging the exchange of practical and strategic knowledge. Key themes included governance, environmental sustainability, green job creation, training, and composting culture.

At Ecompost, we remain committed to delivering accessible and effective solutions in regions like the Canary Islands, which are making a decisive commitment to responsible, decentralized organic waste management.
